Trinity Foundation's Ole Anthony recently appeared
in Dateline NBC, Sunday night, March 6, 2005
I saw Mr. Anthony wearing a costly suit. I believe
it will be atleast more than $300 in value.
If he is a "bond servant" of God (according to
his own words) then he should wear just a T-Shirt worth 50 cents
and should not spend more than 50 cents on it, why use suits etc.?
Even he can live without shirt also, can he not? After all Jesus
hanged on the cross without shirt????? If King is hanging without
shirt why can't the bond servant?
Perhaps he doesn't know that in India missionaries
are struggling to even have one meal a day. If his $300 suit is
sold and given in India that can support 6 missionaries for a
full month i.e $50 (Rs. 2500 for one month for one family).
Well sounds like Judas isn't it? When the woman
anointed Jesus with costly oil in alabaster flask. Judas said
why waste this money why can't it be given to the poor. What Mr.
Anthony told in Dateline is nothing better than what Judas told.
Now read the following verses. Phil 4:18 Indeed
I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus
the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable
sacrifice, well pleasing to God. Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply
all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Paul is not talking about spiritual riches but he
is talking about earthly riches here. He says "I have all and
abound" then he says "having received from Epaphroditus the things
sent from you" the material things sent for paul what are they?
"a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing
to God." Well according to Mr. Anthony paul is crazy isn't it?
God does not please with material things given to servants of
God is that not Mr. Anthony's thinking?
Well Paul doesn't stop there and says "And my God
shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by
Christ Jesus."
What are the riches of God? Is Mr. Anthony's God
poor? To me God of Bible is rich and when He suplies from His
riches it should be richest in the world.
So Mr. Anthony's arguments of "bond servants
should live in poverty" is unbiblical and anti-bible. Mr.
Anthony, try to get your acts right before you point your fingure
on others. I should see you without shirt next time on TV if you
really believe in your theology.
