Benny Hinn Controversy Answered

Why Benny Hinn is not a false Prophet?
Are Benny Hinn's prophecies false?

Are Benny Hinn's prophecies false?

Christianity.com claims that Benny Hinn's prophecies are false or failed prophecies?

---------------------------------------
Here is excerpts of christianity.com forum:
Earthless (Moderator): (taken from christianity.com P - 24-26 Benny Hinn Fans....)
P-25, 26: Benny Hinn has spoken false/failed prophecy after prophecy.
P-25: For the Bible is clear in Deutronomy 18 that one failed/false prophecy spoken makes the speaker a false prophet.
P-20 On a much simpler note, the Bible is clear that one false prophecy spoken makes the speaker a false prophet and that God will bring justice to them for speaking lies on His behalf.

(Visitor to christianity.com) P-26:
God's promise to Moses and Israelites to take them to the promised land failed when they sinned. Those who came out of Israel died in the wilderness including Moses.

Jonah spoke (preached) that within 40 days Nineveh would be overthrown. It did not happen according to the word of Jonah, the reason people repented from their sins and turned to God.
---------------------------------------
Note: The prophecies of Moses and Jonah's failed. So are you (Christianity.com) thinking that Moses and Jonah are also false prophets. Because according to your (christianity.com's) logic "if one prophecy fails or turns to false" the person must be False Prophets? right?

The above examples were examples of promises kept, not failed prophecies.
Bygraceiamsaved (Veteran):
The things you listed were not prophecies, but Jonah's own private feelings. I think you had better rethink your arguments as they are not true renderings of the passages given.

----------------------------------------
Note: I don't know how can you call it as promise? Can you call it as a promise that after 40 days whole city will be destroyed? Strange!! Isn't it?)

Jonah had private feelings so he went to Tarshish instead of Nineveh? Right? Funny! Very Funny! One person is saying that it was a promise the other one is saying it was a private feeling. God's word clearly says that "word of God came to Jonah". Jonah 3:1 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying......"

So it was not a promise or private feeling but word of God i.e. Prophecy came to Jonah that after 40 days Nineveh would be overthrown. When you do not have a proper Bible knowledge you can call anybody false prophet.

It is becoming evident that you do not know what the definition of 'prophecy' is. Prophecy is an individual claiming that the words they are about to utter are not their own, but of the Lord God Himself speaking.
----------------------------------------
Note: According to above post you can say that what Jonah got is prophecy. Because he heard from God.

Earthless (Moderator): p-25
What failed prophecy(ies) did Moses or Jonah speak? Can you please share the passages for them.

Here who spoke to Jonah? What do you understand by "word of the Lord came to Jonah"? Is it a promise or private feeling? It is very strange. Here is the whole conversation between God and Jonah:

Jonah 3:1 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying,
Jonah 3:2 "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you."
Jonah 3:3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent.
Jonah 3:4 And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"

You can clearly see that "Word of God came to Jonah" it was prophecy not Johah's intention to go to Nineveh.

If you read the very first verse you can see the same thing:
Jonah 1:1 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
Jonah 1:2 "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me."

Is it prophecy? According to how you are interpreting the idea of prophecy? No. I hesitate to tell you that it was prophecy because of your interpretation of the word "prophecy". ......

Then which ones are prophecies according to you? Is there any prophecy in the Bible or just opinions of people like Moses, Jonah and Isaiah? I have given you clear proof that their prophecies failed yet they were TRUE Prophets of God. Prophecies do not fulfill as you think or as you wish.

Isaiah spoke about Hezekiah in 2 Ki 20:1 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, "Thus says the LORD: 'Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live.'"

You can see that it is SPECIFIC prophecy that Hezekiah is going to die and WILL NOT LIVE. And it was spoken with the AUTHORITY of "THUS SAYS THE LORD."

But we all know that Hezekiah did not DIE but LIVED 15 more years. FAILED PROPHECY period.

Like wise Jonah spoke SPECIFIC PROPHECY that "in FORTY DAYS Nineveh would be overthrown." DID NOT HAPPEN IN FORTY DAYS.. AGAIN FAILED PROPHECY PERIOD

This is exactly how you interpret Benny Hinn's prophecy. Don't apply double standards. You convienently dodged the question if Isaiah's prophecy SPECIFICLY mentioned in 2 Ki 20:1. Was it a prophecy or not? I had asked answer in yes or no.

There is difference between FALSE prophecy and FAILED prophecy. TRUE Prophecies can fail (1 Cor 13:8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail;)

A prophecy has failed that does not mean that prophecy is FALSE. But the mark of a FALSE prophecy is that it will CONTRADICT the WORD OF GOD. Prophecies change because God in His sovereign will and in His great mercies allows a person's petition or because people sin and God being a just God cannot grant the things He had promised.

Prophecies of Benny Hinn are not false. You will know that if you have the Bible knowledge. If you eat food prepared by someone else you will never know how it was prepared. Same way unless you read your Bible yourself and ask God to help you understand, you cannot understand.

The greatest problem of this forum is that none of you know your Bible. Unless you know what is in the Bible, you cannot understand anything else. You people are groping in the dark. God has not kept us in dark but gave His Holy Spirit to understand which is correct and which is not.
----------------------------------------
Note: Finally christianity.com forum's moderators could not answer these questions whether prophecy of Jonah, Isaiah, Moses was failed propheices or not? They just skipped the topic and jumped to another topic like monky on tree. Not only that they banned the above visitor when they had no answers for failed prophecies of Jonah and so on.

Prophecies could look like failed/false prophecy because there are many reasons for it.

1. According to Bible prophecies have it's own time of fulfilment.
Joshep saw dream but it took almost 14 years for this dream to come to pass. Abraham got prophecy that Sara will bear a child for him. This prophecy came to him when he was 75 years old. But it was fulfilled when Abraham was 100 years old. So delay does not mean that prophecies are false. If today you get some prophecy it does not mean that tomorrow it should fulfil. Prophecies have it's own time for fulfilment.
2. Prophecies does not fulfill as a human mind thinks about it.
Many times we even may not understand the real meaning of prophecies. Ex: Jesus spoke to His disciples, "One of you would betray me". But none of them could understand what that meant. The same way till prophecy come to pass you may never know what it was. Sometimes it surprises us that the way we interpret or think with our human intellect that certain prophecies would fulfill in a perticular way, but it does not. So you cannot call that those prophecies are false or failed one. If you do not have experience of prophecies you can never understand these things.
